On the eve of 51st session of Indian Historical Records Commission, the department brought out the bulletin entitled "A Preliminary Guide to the Rajasthan State Archives". The publication was widely used by Research Scholars & the other users of the records, as it contained a vast information about the holdings of the records in the Head Office as well as in the branch offices giving various series including period & heads. Looking to the need & demand of users, the second edition has been published adding more information with regards to private records & Oral History references, including photographs etc. I hope this second edition will be very useful to those for whom it is meant. I am thankful to Shri Narsing Lal Kiraroo, Archivist, Shri K.P. Joshi, Chemist, and Shri Tribhuwan Nath Upadhyay & Shri Abdul Sattar who assisted in bringing out this publication.
